Who knew trimming your wick was important? I can tell you before I started down this adventure, I did not. However, I have quickly learned the most important thing is TRIMMING YOUR WICK. 

Trimming your wick before each use has several benefits, including:

 A cleaner burn, reducing residue, limit flickering and give off less soot. Can help your candle burn up to 25% longer. 

Wick trimmers are an ideal tool for trimming your wick because of their design. The curve blade is specifically shaped to reach down into the candle and trim the wick to the desired length and it catches the trimmings on top of the blade, so it doesn't fall back into the wax.
